Needed: Twitter Widget Testers

I’ve done some work on the Twitter Widget Pro plugin recently and need some testers to test out the version in trunk for me. The majority of the work centered around auto-linking text in Tweets. The regex for making URLs clickable has been brought in line with the WordPress make_clickable() function, which better handles punctuation at the end of URLs. In the process it can now auto-link FTP links as well as E-Mail addresses, along with the hashtags that it already handled.

Don’t worry, just because I switched to the WordPress make_clickable() regex doesn’t mean that I abandoned the filters. All links are still built using the internal _buildLink() method, which means you can still use the same filters you always did to control the link attributes and text.

Please give it a try and let me know how it works.

  1. Hi Aaron,

I only added your plugin a couple of days ago. It works great and I do appreciate the work you must have put in.

But Twitter’s new API guidelines – assuming I’ve read them right – will only allow the display of Tweets if they match Web Intents.

So it looks like I’m going to have to pull the tweets from my site.
